Project Description

The purpose of this project was to deliver an evidence-based vision and recommendations for the renewal and redevelopment of Council-owned community assets as part of the Miller Town Centre renewal master plan.

Project outcomes included:

  • Identification of urban renewal opportunities within the Miller Town Centre.
  • Improved linkages and connectivity between residential areas and Council’s community facilities and open spaces.
  • Improved connections for both pedestrians and vehicles with Miller.
  • Provision of accessible, proportionate, quality, useable and safe open space.
  • Improved sightlines, surveillance and safety within the public domain.

Otium’s role in this project:

  • Aquatic Facility Review involving site inspection and stakeholder meetings, market analysis and trends assessment, demand analysis and forward planning opportunities assessment, aquatic facility condition audit, preparation of draft renewal/redevelopment plan with recommendation and high-level cost estimates.
  • Open Space and Recreation Review involving audit and analysis of public open space within 2km catchment, mapping and GIS, development of local open space upgrade and development plan.
