Project Description

Tinaburra Peninsula is located on Lake Tinaroo in Far North Queensland. It is a key recreational site, providing opportunities for both aquatic and land based recreation activities, and holds great value for many residents and visitors for both informal and formal uses. The diversity of uses has presented management challenges in the past, and this project sought to develop a plan which confirmed supported uses on and around the site and best managed any possible conflict.

Key project tasks included:

  • Detailed site investigations
  • Comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Recommendations on future use and management of the site
  • Recommendations on physical enhancement of the site
  • Site concept design
