Otium Planning Group had much to celebrate last week!  Not only did we reach a milestone of five years in business, but two of our Directors were recognised for their outstanding contribution to the Sport and Recreation Industry.

Mike King was the recipient of the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria award for Outstanding Contribution to the Aquatic and Recreation Industry. With over 41 years’ experience, Mike has been a major influence on the design, development and operations of aquatic and leisure facilities across Australia and New Zealand. He is a known leader within the industry, evidenced by the number of projects he has been involved in including the development or redevelopment of over 300 feasibility studies resulting in the construction of over 100 facilities with a further five facilities currently under design and construction.

Martin Lambert was the recipient of the Parks and Leisure Australia 2020 Frank Stewart Distinguished Service Award.  Martin’s career in the Parks and Leisure industry spans 30 years, including 24 years as a highly respected recreation planner and consultant. He has been a tireless advocate for the role that parks and recreation play in enabling people to lead active and healthy lives. He is an innovative strategist, lateral thinker, and fearless challenger of mediocrity – qualities he has demonstrated as a leader of PLA and a leading consultant.

We congratulate Mike and Martin on their awards and are privileged to have them as part of our leadership team.
