The Central Goldfields Shire Council approved the Active Central Goldfields Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2020 to 2029 at their Council meeting on Tuesday, 15 September.
The purpose of this project was to “establish a clear direction for the provision, development and management of high-quality open space, sport and recreation places and spaces and facilities to increase the Central Goldfields Shire community’s opportunities to be Healthier and More Active More Often”.
Otium Planning Group was engaged by Council to develop the Strategy, which will guide Council and community decision making for the next ten years, and will enhance Council’s capacity to advocate to State and Federal governments to secure funding for recreation infrastructure projects.
